Weekend sickness

I had a mom's night out on Friday. That was so much fun I really enjoyed myself. It was great being able to get out and hang with some local friends. We started out at a local place called Fuzzy's tacos that place is so good. I got brisket tacos and like I said they are delicious. From there we pretty much walked around downtown Bricktown.

Saturday was not very good to me. Earlier in the week, the kids had a stomach bug I thought it was something they ate. NOPE, because I was lucky enough to get it too. =/ Boo. Not only was I hurting from all the walking I was also nauseous from this horrible tummy bug. My mother in law invited me to walk around hobby lobby with her. I went and that was before I was hit with the sickness. We picked up a few things from hobby lobby so I can craft some things. I picked up some stands for my tile signs I have made. I also picked up some stuff to try and make some shirts and a pillowcase.  Then that night I was hit hard by the horrible sickness.
Sunday I was lazy because I felt like death. It was so bad my body ached, my head hurt, I was sick to my stomach, and I couldn't eat anything. It was not fun thankfully my husband is amazing. He took care of me. I hate how my weekend turned from great to gross and sickly. We all pretty much lounged on the couch and watched the ID channel all day.
I am feeling better today but still a little sick to my stomach but not near as bad. My body isn't hurting as much as it was. Now my husband has the lovely sickness that hit this house. I need to Lysol this whole house. This crud needs to get out of here and let us get back to our fun lifestyle. I am hoping to get a few projects done this week. I have a few things planned out but that I wanted to get done this weekend but that sickness took over.

Cowboy Museum Field Trip

Last Friday we went to the National Cowboy museum to check out a new exhibit opening which was the Power and Prestige exhibit. We made a field trip out of it. We were pretty excited about our trip I was a little nervous bringing a 3-year-old to the museum. We have never been to this museum so I didn’t know what all they had to offer. There were exhibits that we were not allowed to take pictures in so I couldn’t show everything.
When we go there we had our tickets reserved for us that was a very smooth process. They have about 5 to 10 volunteers that are willing to help you through the museum. We started our journey through the museum. Weston started off a little grumpy so we were unsure how long we will be able to stay.

The first exhibit we walked through I was unable to take pictures in. It was a really neat area with photographs of western actors that were on sets of movies. There were pictures of John Wayne of course. I can’t remember any of the other actors that were on display. There was a box that displayed a photographers bag and some old school lens. I wish I could have taken a picture of it to share it was really neat.
From that exhibit, it went into the bandana display. There were so many beautiful bandanas and pictures of westerners wearing these bandanas. It explained the history of the bandana and how it came about. The kids weren’t too interested in this part.

January Empties

I have a very different post today for y’all. First I wanted to state that this last month has been pretty hard on me. I lost my Paw paw then a week later his sister my aunt passed as well. This has been a very emotional month for me. I Took time off and focused on my family through this hard time. Thankfully I could go back home to lay my paw to rest. To all my sweet readers that wrote me and told me they were praying thank you so much. That really means a lot to my family and me.
Back to the original blog post. This blog will be covering some of my month’s empties. These will be products that I have used over the months or month that I have used completely. These are going to be all different types of products from beauty, household, cleaning, and more. I will be stating whether I plan to repurchase these products and how I liked them. This is still a new concept for me so this will be a learning experience. I only have a few products to go over this month. Most of the products are beauty/household related this month.  So if you want to see what I have used for the month of January keep reading. (these are all products that I purchased.) Healthy Lifestyle Change

The new year is bringing Big changes. We eat a mostly paleo lifestyle but of course cheat a good bit here or there. We changed to a paleo lifestyle half way through the year this year. It was a great change my husband was able to lose 15lbs by just cutting out processed food that I thought we NEEDED to have. By Need to have I mean a dinner being meat, veggie, and a carb like rice or potatoes. My husband was told he needed to change his lifestyle to help his health. They recommended the paleo lifestyle. I researched it and seemed it would be a great fit for us since we mostly hunt for our own meat when we can plus already eat veggies at every dinner. We tried quitting cold turkey and switch to strictly paleo which was a huge mistake. We should have waited a little bit and put our toes in the water first.

Homeschooling Fail's

Homeschooling is amazing but also has it’s ups and downs. I know for us we have struggled with some areas while homeschooling over these 3 years. I plan to expand on them in the post. I plan to share our fails in hopes that it will help others that decide to homeschool in the future. Our homeschool is far from perfect I have made mistakes but with that comes victories. This year we have made a lot more victories than mistakes. This is the first year that I can say homeschooling is going and looking like the way I wanted it to two years ago.

I went into homeschool knowing absolutely nothing. I mean it’s a big decision how could I not have any information. Well, our decision was sort of last minute one. We had all the intentions to sign Z up for Kindergarten. When we went to sign her up we didn’t like the way the staff treated us as parents. I also heard about kindergarteners talking about things that should not be discussed at that age level. From there we made the choice to homeschool. I thought that homeschooling would benefit Z. There are plenty of books out there along with youtube videos and blogs that have information on homeschooling.
